Laura Bailey is an English model and writer and has written for Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Vanity Fair, Glamour, The Independent, The Daily Telegraph and The Sunday Times. She is a Cultural Ambassador for the British Fashion Council and an Ambassador for Oxfam. In September 2011, Bailey was announced as a contributing editor to British Vogue. She has also supported People Tree for many years, travelling to Nepal with Safia Minney in 2010 to see artisans and how fair wages and initiatives help wider communities.
“I’ve been a fan of People Tree for years but it was Livia Firth who introduced me to Safia a couple of years ago. My trip with Safia to Nepal in 2010 fired and strengthened my commitment to Fair Trade fashion. Meeting the fashion producers and spending time in a school and orphanage that People Tree helps to fund in Nepal was both humbling and inspiring.” – Laura Bailey
Laura shares with The Thread her top picks for this Winter…
Recycled Yarn Pom Pom Mittens
Because I love pom-poms and these will make me smile on my winter bike-rides.
Orla Kiely Stripe Boyfriend Cardigan
For my girlfriends, for country walks and mornings-after.
Polar Bear Hat & Mittens
For my daughter, who’s obsessed with all things Arctic snowy-white.
“Safia Minney is one of my eco-heroes. Such a good example of turning what could be a very underground concept into mainstreem fashion: amazing quality, amazing price points.” – Laura Bailey
