Who made your dress? Lauren Meets her Makers

Watch as model Lauren Gold travels into a slum in Mumbai to meet her dress makers!

In January 2013, model Lauren Gold travelled with People Tree Founder and CEO Safia Minney to meet the and Fair Trade artisans who produce our clothing and accessories. Watch this video where Lauren models the beautiful Philippa Blossom Sun Dress and then goes to visit the women who made it.

Lauren modeled our gorgeous summer collection on the beach and in an organic cotton field – and she also had the unique opportunity to meet the Fair Trade artisans at Creative Handicrafts who made her dress.

Lauren is wearing the Philippa Dress in green, a breezy, vintage-inspired style with a sweet floral print. The Philippa is also available in a soft grey with pops of bright coral. The Philipa Dress along with many of People Tree’s most popular summer styles are made by the women at Creative Handicrafts. Even better, many of these styles are now on sale up to 60% off.

Lauren traveled into the slum in Mumbai where Creative Handicrafts is working to empower disadvantaged women. Creative Handicrafts is a social enterprise that provides training and work opportunities to women who are often the main bread winners for their families. In the video, Lauren meets the women who made her dress and sees the beautiful difference that Fair Trade is making.
