Since People Tree’s head office is situated in East London, the team at People Tree thought we’d share some of our favourite places to shop, take a walk and eat around the area. This city guide focuses in on London Fields (Overground station) and follows around Georgia, People Tree customer, for the day. The guide includes lots of great recommendations that you’ll definitely want to check out!
Location: 69b Broadway Market, London E8 4PH
69b Boutique is contemporary, vibrant and the best place to find those one off, unique pieces that you don’t see anyone else wearing. The boutique stocks a wide variety of sustainable designers and each brand has to meet strict policies regarding transparency and accountability in order to be considered to be sold in the boutique. People Tree clothing can also be found here, so if you’re the sort of person who likes to see clothing in the flesh before you make a purchase, this boutique is a definite go-to!

“When you shop at 69b you can be certain that your purchase has been made in a socially and environmentally responsible way.”- 69b Boutique Online
Location: London Fields West Side, Hackney, London E8 3EU
Walks in the park are the best way to unwind at the weekend with friends, family and pets. Green space in London is a rarity so we have to make the most of London’s offering of public parks. Autumn brings with it a combination of cold weather and sun which makes for a wonderful atmosphere, along with plenty of leaves to kick and throw around. London Fields also has lots of cute puppies and people’s yoga skills to marvel at so there’s plenty to be entertained by.
Location: Broadway Market, London, E8 4PH
London is known for its markets which you can find dotted across the capital. They are the perfect place to discover new food, clothing and gifts whilst also supporting small businesses which is something we are very passionate about here at People Tree. Broadway Market takes place every Saturday and a particular highlight has to be the Crosstown Doughnuts stall- healthier than your regular doughnut but also an indulgent treat!

Halloween is over unfortunately but why not try out some new recipes using these different pumpkin varieties- all organic and super cute!
Cacti at Rebel Rebel, London Florist
Jamie Gaunt Handmade Furniture and Homewares- products made from salvaged oak and reclaimed floorboards
The guy on the stall said they are ‘The best doughnuts in London‘; a very big claim but after trying them, he may be speaking the truth! The doughnuts have a sourdough base and the company prides themselves on using the best quality ingredients. The two shown here are: Peanut Butter Berry and Boysenberry & Apple.
“All of our doughnuts are hand made fresh daily at our bakery in London.”- Crosstown Doughnuts Online
Book stall with great titles such as ‘I’ve lived in East London for 86 ½ years‘ by Martin Usborne and ‘Dalston in the 80s‘ by Andrew Holligan
BROADWAY VEGAN MARKET
Location: Westgate Street, London, E8 3RL
The vegan market is just round the corner from the main market and also takes place every Saturday. A top recommendation would be Loving Earth chocolate- it’s Fair Trade, sustainable and extremely delicious!
“We love quality, organic, real chocolate. We work with small producer communities around the world…“- Loving Earth Online
